Downtown Beach is a kick-ass collection of new surf rock tunes that simultaneously returns instrumental rock to it's roots and pushes the envelope of 'Surf Music' to it's bleeding edge. The hollow-body guitars, big bass, booming drums, and raw mixes on Downtown Beach are typical of early instro-rock pioneers such as Link Wray & Duane Eddy, while the arrangements and attitude are completely modern. Chum is not your daddy's surf music. No pretty harmonies, no old ladies from The Valley, no matching suits/hawaiian shirts... Chum is about a good time fueled by pints of the good stuff (insert your favorite beer here, or use Guinness as a reliable default.)
