PLEASE NOTE: Due to artistic decisions and creative reasons, the DVD included in this release is PAL region 0 format and may not be playable on standard DVD players. Newly expanded 2CD+DVD edition of the 1982 album, featuring the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit Twilight Zone. Remastered from the first-generation Soundpush Studios master tapes. Featuring DVD of all six restored Dick Maas music videos. Featuring single edits, B-sides and an hour long of previously unreleased outtakes and early versions/mixes. Including a 32-page booklet with a new essay, memorabilia, and photos. Originally meant as a 'goodbye album', their sixteenth studio record Cut marked Golden Earring's comeback in 1982. The album's huge success, both artistically and commercially, heralded a new period for the band. Both the album and the single Twilight Zone topped the charts in their home country, while in the United States the single - thanks to MTV's heavy rotation - reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 in Spring 1983. Golden Earring also performed forty shows in two months across the United States. At the start of 1983, everything seemed to be right, just as it was in 1974, when Moontan and Radar Love were climbing the American charts. 'Standing with our backs against the wall apparently brings out the best in us', George Kooymans said in 2015. This expanded edition contains a newly remastered version of the album, as well as the 7"-single edits of Twilight Zone, The Devil Made Me Do It and B-sides King Dark and Shadow Avenue. On a separate CD, the hour long The Cut Sessions offers outtakes, raw mixes and alternative versions, including the very first studio recordings of Twilight Zone and Future from November 1981. The DVD contains all six music videos that Dick Maas produced for Golden Earring between 1982 and 1997. All visuals have been restored and remastered from the original 16mm and 35mm reels and analog and digital video sources. The music video of The Devil Made Me Do It and a feature about the making of the When The Lady Smiles music video are included as a bonus. All tracks have been 24 bit/192 kHz remastered from the original master tapes. This 2CD+DVD edition of Cut is the fourth instalment in a special series of remastered & expanded albums by Golden Earring, overseen by Red Bullet catalogue and band archivist Wouter Bessels.
