The duo of Dylan Brady and Laura Les, 100 gecs, announces that the band’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, 10,000 gecs, will arrive on March 17th, 2023. Following their breakout debut album, 1,000 gecs, the anticipation of their next body of work has been high and the band’s teases have been plentiful. The forthcoming album is set to include previously released singles “mememe” which was described in the story as "an ebullient carnival of ska-inflected verses that bounce off a chorus of thrash guitars and a squiggling synth line" along with the 90’s Alt Rock-inspired “Doritos & Fritos,” which The Fader noted as "unlike any other Gecs track before it.”

For those yet initiated: 100 gecs planted their flag on the proverbial pop culture moon with their 2019 debut album 1000 gecs, which was heralded by The New Yorker as, “an impressively precise maximalist exercise with no rules” and “utterly unhinged in the best way possible” by GQ. The innovative project captured the hearts of fans and critics alike - selling out all of their live shows to date along with The New York Times calling it, “some of the savviest pop music of the year,” and Rolling Stone dubbing it “one of 2019’s most exciting debuts.” In just a few months following the release of 1,000 gecs, the band went from playing their first concert from inside the video game Minecraft to selling out shows across the country, proving that their rabid, rapidly multiplying fanbase doesn't only exist in the far corners of the internet. After their world tour was postponed in the summer of 2020, Brady and Les kept rolling with the release of 1000 gecs and The Tree of Clues, a rework of the original album featuring collaborations from the likes of A. G. Cook, Fall Out Boy, Charli XCX, Rico Nasty, as well as crowd sourced contributions by fans. The transformative release was described by The NME as a “brain-melting, genre-crushing vision of pop’s future.” Their subsequent international touring over the past two years has sent the unlikely wizard-cloaked pied pipers jumping from sold-out show to sold-out show, seemingly two steps ahead of the zeitgeist, not to mention having a blast while doing it.

Lillian Axe had just began turning people's head with several hits from their "Poetic Justice" in 1992 when grunge wave came sweeping in. The band tried to survive the change by releasing "Psychoschizophrenia" which incorporated a darker element and deeper essence to the music and lyric department respectively. Big thumbs up to Stevie Blaze who wrote all the songs, this man is simply a genius definition, not to mention the thrilling guitar solos he had on this album.

London's Vacuous finally present their debut album to follow the magnificent 2020 EP Katabasis. Greeting the listener along with the equally gloomy cover-art is an array of spectral and atmospheric death metal that is haunting beyond the nightmarish depths of the human mind. Perhaps owing to their fixation on the human psyche, or the equally inescapable reality their music conjures with contorting riffs, rock-solid drumming and bellowed vocals, chasms of atmosphere are opened to pour one's own psyche into. One of the most unique things about Vacuous is their ability to play such bludgeoning, heavy music while retaining a very anguished emotional side, lending massively to the cataclysmic ambience of Dreams Of Dysphoria. The outcome of this is music is sonically punishing. From eerily dragging moments of graven doom through to the churning malice of sickeningly twisted fury, there is nothing but charnel brilliance on display here in a truly diverse platter of hostilities. While one could wrongfully assume that there is only simplicity to be found in this style of music, Vacuous have an utterly unique, warped way of writing their songs that is like no other. From the gloomier moments to the gut-wrenching hooks, there is always something slightly off-kilter here that is disquieting and unfamiliar. This feverish and unwelcoming side of the music is hard to shake, which gives the album a genuinely disturbing factor while the absolutely ferocious death metal core is never lost, nor anything short of thrust upon oneself. It would be an easy trap to pin them into the "old school" micro-genre, but this would be doing a disservice as although the real death metal spirit of old is here, this band is simply not derivative enough of any specific sound to be pigeon-holed so easily. Listen and discover this nightmarish tome, but be warned... Dreams Of Dysphoria is a truly prophetic title, as this record might cause psychiatric harm, claustrophobia, sleep-paralysis and all manner of bodily harm.

Vinyl LP pressing. Reissue of the singer/songwriter's 2007 debut album. A stunning set of songs exploring American music in all it's many aspects. You'll hear everyone from Hank Williams to The Pixies, but it never sounds forced. Legendary producer Paul Q. Kolderie (Radiohead, Uncle Tupelo, Hole, Pixies) pulls it all together into a muscular, rocking sound that has a sometimes surprisingly tender core. Borges' songwriting range is most impressive in someone so young, and the songs are given ample breathing room by her band, which includes ex-Blood Oranges multi-instrumentalist, Jimmy Ryan. "Silver City" emerged as one of the most striking debuts of 2007.

We originally reissued Waltel Branco's 'Meu Balanço' in 1995, it was one of the first releases to come out on Mr Bongo. It is a much-requested title with original copies becoming ever more-scarce and the price tag increasingly rising, so it feels fitting to present this stunning record once again for all to enjoy. 'Meu Balanço' was originally released on CBS Records Brazil in 1975. It is Brazilian big band, orchestrated jazz-funk at it's finest. Echoing the library and film productions created in Europe and the USA at the time, it also displays the hallmarks of Waltel's heritage with distinct threads of Brazilian flavour running throughout. The album flirts between jazz-funk, cinematic library excursions, breaks and beats, easy-listening, and 70s cop show instrumentals. It is a breezy ride into Waltel's world, wonderfully nostalgic and of another time and place, yet snippets of the production echo the beats of contemporary hip-hop iconic artists such as Madlib, knxwledge and The Alche

Vinyl LP pressing. The Heaven EP features producer-extraordinaire Leonard Charles at the helm, collaborating with prodigious artists from New Zealand (his home country) and the USA, to create a wildly eclectic EP project with the common underlying thread of basement funk knitting it together. This presentation of funk is truly a legitimate foundation for the heads that need it: built upon solid soul/jazz chord progressions and played on original musical equipment/gear from the 80's and 90's. The record features an exclusive remix of the song "Nine Lives" that he co-wrote with boogie/funk legend Leroy Burgess, and additionally features stellar collaborations with Guilty Simpson, Zyah Belle, Reality Jonez and A.C. Freazy.

Vinyl LP pressing. Chevalier has shifted focus to writing and recording music since 2020. The band has played only one show since then - a mid-June 2022 gig in their native Helsinki. Chevalier instead has opted to hunker down on the music for the eventual second full-length album. Chevalier drummer Axel initially laid down his tracks in Stockholm two years ago. The release was produced and mixed by guitarist Mikko. The timing of Ancient Metal Attack's release suggests that it was designed to preview Chevalier's upcoming second album.

The idea behind Carlos Cipa's new album is easy to describe: one room, one piano, one pianist/composer. Taking one's time. Approaching with the greatest possible impartiality. Simply improvising, at first only from, for, and with oneself. But what at first might seem a simple concept becomes more complex at a closer look. With it's quiet, contemplative solo-piano sounds, Ourselves, as we are, is a "deeply vulnerable collection. In the age of fake authenticity, remakes... this approach is perhaps one of the few remaining ways to create art: to reveal our true selves. Radically personal. Radically intimate. Radically honest. Ourselves, as we are.

2023 sees Dark Horses awaken from their slumber to deliver a pandemic-delayed record of moody, sonic atmospheres with a booster shot of soul. Recorded alongside technical wizard Bob Earland (Radiophonic Workshop), While We Were Sleeping is musically complex and daring -as the album unfolds, Lisa Elle's vocals trade blows with wiry guitar lines and motorik drums, float over fuzzed-up basslines and dissolve into layers of woozy analogue synths. Lyrically, the album reflects the challenging circumstances in which it was conceived, treading the razor's edge between nihilism and collectivism, anxiety and serenity, suspicion and trust. But the thread running through it is a sense that we're all sharing this short act we call life, so the least we can do is show each other empathy, respect and - hell, who cares what they say - love. This 12" LP is pressed on clear w/lime green smoke 140 gram vinyl with a gatefold sleeve and a digital download card.

The Dils are one of the most legendary punk bands of all-time. Fronted by brothers Chip and Tony Kinman, the group was as important to the U.S. scene as The Clash and Sex Pistols were to England. Though they only recorded three singles, their potent political punk tunes such as "I Hate The Rich", "Class War", and "Red Rockers" still leave a mark some 25 years later. Their seminal 1977 debut 7" "I Hate The Rich" (included on the Bacchus Archives Class War compilation alongside a scorching live set from 1980) was recently named by Mojo magazine as one of the 100 best punk shockers of all-time. FOR FANS OF: STEEL PANTHER, MÖTLEY CRÜE, POISON, THE NEW ROSES, KISSIN' DYNAMITE, H.E.A.T.Hair Metal heroes John Diva & The Rockets Of Love are dropping their third album "The Big Easy" on March 17th, 2023. Their second offering "American Amadeus" served as an ode to Glam Metal, but for record number three, the five musicians revisit what they do best: straightforward, refreshing rock with distinctive riffs, hard beats, multilayered lyrics, and a frontman in top form. The wait is finally over: JOHN DIVA is back! "Remember 80-something-we never seemed to miss a thing" - these first lines of John Diva's latest song "Back In The Days" are a perfect summary of what this band stands for: Spandex pants, juvenile folly, a love for partying, and a Walkman with a fresh set of batteries. John Diva & The Rockets Of Love are bringing back carefree 80s vibes, yet manage to make them sound brand new. And isn't carefreeness exactly what we all need right now? The name of the record says it all: "We wanted to record an album that sounds like Cherry Cola," guitarist Snake Rocket explains the process of creating "The Big Easy". "Also, we put great emphasis on the fact that the record is intended as an album and doesn't sound as if we jammed together an intro and eleven random songs. The record works in that order precisely." It only took six months from initial song idea to finished album. Never has John Diva & The Rockets Of Love sounded more like a unit - never has the group oozed so much joy and California sunshine from every pore. John Diva & The Rockets Of Love are synonymous with wild parties, passionate live shows, but also liberal messages in their lyrics. Bullshit? Not at all

There’s more than a hint of ambition on the double LP sophomore effort from Sam Austin Rabede, the producer known as DJ Black Low. Pretoria, South Africa-born and based, the young man makes amapiano with new ways of expressing this local-turned-global style of dance music.

In DJ Black Low’s musical imagination, the songs manage to smoothly vacillate between dreamy and firmly-grounded. Adorned with vocalists across most of the twelve tracks, there’s a new dimension to Black Low’s now-signature approach to abstract, angular deconstruction of the rhythmic developments in his songs.

The album references influences and ambitions in its song titles and lyrics while the music itself is anthemic in its sonic and structural aspirations. On many of the songs a slow-burning tension transforms into something unexpected until you’re somewhere else as the track concludes. There is an emotional and compositional maturity that builds on his earlier work. Vocals and lyrics are in focus. Production collaborators among Black Low’s Gauteng Province circle add to the constantly churning array of ideas that populate this consistently surprising release. Despite being a relative newcomer, DJ Black Low is onto something here.
