Those who clocked Abe Vigoda's transition from 2006's angular-punk debut Kid City to 2008's startling tropicali-punk Skeleton should know the LA quartet aren't ones for repeating themselves. To Skeleton's hot-hot-hot template, they now add glassy shards of 'cold wave' pop, with synthesisers, sequencers and altogether broodier beats. Scorching temperatures, icy currents - Crush is a thermal column of vertiginous brilliance!

Limited vinyl LP pressing of this classic Punk mini album, released to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the original release. Produced by Thom Wilson (The Offspring, Iggy Pop) and originally released on Faulty Products and Alternative Tentacles, this eight-song 12-inch plays at 45 RPM (which confused a lot of people back in 1982 when they spun it at 33 RPM) and it was the band's follow-up to their landmark Hardcore 81 album. Alongside core DOA members Joey Shithead Keighley and Dave Gregg, the recording features the rhythm section of Ken Dimwit Montgomery (Pointed Sticks) on skins and vocals, Brian Wimpy Roy Goble (The Subhumans). War on 45 was hailed for it's collection of anti-war songs right at the height of President Ronald Reagan's Cold War rhetoric and nuclear arms buildup.

Crushingly loud, shimmering distortion and harmonics. Dark Sea Dream was created in Fall 2007 and perform steadily since throughout the greater Potomac Valley area and beyond. The DC based four piece ride crashing waves of Tesla-coil fused white noise to unpredictable conclusions, particularly since their noise isn't paralyzing like the typical avant-garde noise rock band: it is translucent, glimmering, and beautiful. For fans of Sonic Youth, The Dead C., Sun Ra, Yahowha 13, Xasthur, etc. Kinda like you always wanted those "shoegaze" bands to sound like, but they were always too wimpy! This colored vinyl version is limited to 500 and comes in a heavy gatefold sleeve.

He has constructed this 13 song suite of instrumentals that owe a serious debt to the pioneers of late '70's horror soundtracks like John Carpenter, Italo-Prog masters Goblin and the work of German pioneers Tangerine Dream. This album unfolds like the soundtrack to a lost horror classic, with it's pulsing synthesizers and ominous passages inferring the unleashing of an ancient, horror creating a Lovecraft-ian musical journey. What would happen if one of the best and most socially-conscious punk bands took a break from the raucous road to reflect on their lives, reintroduce themselves to their families, and collect their thoughts before writing that next chapter? Well, they couldn't keep the music from flowing - Rather than spit out more punk songs, these talented musicians decided to shake things up and write what many are considering revolutionary - a humanitarian (non-religious) Gospel Americana (Punk) rock sound.

New Pressing on white/blue swirled vinyl! Grant Hart's first solo album of the 21st century is one of the best things he has ever done. The former Husker Du drummer and co-songwriter worked with the diverse cast of musicians from Godspeed You Black Emperor and Silver Mt. Zion on this new LP, Hot Wax, recorded in Montreal and Minneapolis. Grant on some of the some of the songs: The song "Narcissus, Narcissus" is my first attempt at combining ancient Greek mythology and American rock-a-Billy. By merging those influences with an ice cream truck atmosphere I think I have found a style that defines this period of my career. "You're the Reflection of the Moon on the Water" is one of the most organic rock and roll songs that I have ever written. It's style owes a lot to my devotion for Patti Smith. It was inspired by a comment made by a monk during the selection process to find the next Panchen Lhama, who said of one candidate, "he is the reflection of the moon on the water but he is not the.

Limited 180gm audiophile vinyl LP pressing. The Art of Rebellion is the sixth studio album by American crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, originally released in 1992. The album maintains it's position as the band's most commercially successful studio album to date, and the songs 'Nobody Hears' and 'I'll Hate You Better' have the distinction of being the only top 40 hits in Suicidal Tendencies' career. The songs on The Art of Rebellion show the band's continuing experimentation with funk that had begun on this album's predecessor, Lights... Camera... Revolution!, as well as more progressive song structures, a somewhat more alternative atmosphere and even pop-oriented sounds. This helped the band not only outride the explosion of alternative in the early '90s, it also helped them gain a fan base within that community. Nonetheless, the album still stays true to the band's thrash and punk roots on many of the songs. The Art of Rebellion has achieved gold status and peaked at #52 on the Billboard 200.

Musically, it's difficult to describe this diverse album. There is a silky, seductive, and murky aspect which creates a supporting liquid background upon which the lyrics float. There is a balance between the music and the lyrics. They never step on each other as they take turns moving in and out of the foreground. The lyrics play a very dominant role on this album. They are like rhyming instruments that project pictures before our eyes. A style emerges in the imagery and in the lyric rhythm. The Residents use words for the sake of their sounds, and for how they feel when leaving the tongue.
