Black Sabbath made a two-pronged comeback in 1980 and 1981 when Ronnie James Dio joined their ranks as their new lead singer for the platinum albums, Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. On the 1982 Mob Rules U.S. tour, they decided to record shows to create the first official Black Sabbath live album. With material drawn evenly between songs written with Ronnie as well as older classics such as “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” when Live Evil was released at the end of 1982, it represented an accurate and powerful memento of Black Sabbath Mk2 on their second world tour. Although it was hailed by influential heavy metal magazine Kerrang! as “one of the greatest live albums of all time” in 1983, the band was never completely satisfied with the original mix. Now we are able to present a fresh, new 40th anniversary mix of the entire album, remixed from the original analog multi tracks by longtime associate of the band, Wyn Davis. The packaging will also include a 40-page hard back book featuring a newly commissioned 12,000-word essay, the new remix as a double LP, as well as the original double album, newly remastered in 2022 by Andy Pearce. The CD edition will also be four discs, with a 60-page hardback book.
Description:
The Replacements' 1981 Twin/Tone Records debut, SORRY MA, FORGOT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH, heralded the Minneapolis-based band's competing tendencies toward indelible genius and reckless abandon. The 'Mats' legendary founding line-up - lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Paul Westerberg, drummer Chris Mars, and brothers Bob and Tommy Stinson (lead guitar and bass respectively) - unleashed a thrilling, dynamic sound on the album with now-classic songs like "Takin' A Ride," "Shiftless When Idle," and "Customer."

Along with a newly remastered version of the original album, it also uncovers many unreleased rough mixes, alternate takes, and demos from the band's first 18 months together. The LP included in the set, titled Deliberate Noise, presents an alternate version of the original album using these previously unreleased tracks.

SORRY MA, FORGOT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH (DELUXE EDITION) is presented in a 12 x 12 hardcover book loaded with dozens of rarely seen photos. The set was produced by Twin/Tone Records co-founder Peter Jesperson, Rhino's Jason Jones, and Replacements' biographer Bob Mehr, who received a Grammy for Best Album Notes for his work on the band's acclaimed 2019 boxed set Dead Man's Pop. Mehr again penned the detailed liners that accompany this set, which features new interviews with The Replacements. Former Replacements manager Jesperson also provides a remembrance of the Sorry Ma era.

The boxed set opens with a remastered version of the original album that's been expanded with the non-album B-side, "If Only You Were Lonely." From there, a second disc, titled Raised in the City, delves into the group's very first recordings ("Try Me," "She's Firm," "Lookin For Ya"), as well as studio demos for album tracks (including "Shutup" and "I Hate Music"), outtakes ("Shape Up," and "Get On The Stick," among them) and rare basement recordings ("Lie About Your Age," "Johnny Fast"). A handful of these appeared on Rhino's 2008 reissue of Sorry Ma, but more than a dozen included on the new set have never been released.
-
Four outtakes on the collection's third disc, Tape's Rolling, debuted on the same 2008 reissue, but here they're joined by more than two dozen unreleased recordings. Highlights include electrifying alternate versions of "Johnny's Gonna Die" and "Love You Till Friday," alternate mixes for "Rattlesnake" and "More Cigarettes," plus Westerberg's home demos of "You're Pretty When You're Rude" and "If Only You Were Lonely."

The previously unreleased concert, dubbed Unsuitable for Airplay, was captured by Twin/Tone's mobile unit on January 23, 1981, at the 7th St Entry in Minneapolis, MN. A portion of the show was later broadcast on the local community radio station, KFAI.
Jason Isbell's songs are filled with ghosts. They're haunted by spirits both welcome and unwelcome, by the personal and historical legacies that make us who we are. Nowhere Is this more evident than on his 2013 breakthrough album Southeastern. Isbell offers confessions. reflections. and promises that contront and make communion with those who have come before and remain wIth us still. Animals 2018 Remix - The iconic 1977 Pink Floyd album has been remixed for the first time by James Guthrie. Animals is a concept album, focusing on the social-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain, and was a change from the style of the band’s earlier work. The album was developed from a collection of unrelated songs into a concept which describes the apparent social and moral decay of society, likening the human condition to that of animals. Taking inspiration from George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the album depicts the different classes of people as animals with pigs being at the top of the social chain, dropping down to the sheep as the mindless herd following what they are told, with dogs as the business bosses getting fat on the money and power they hold over the other. Although it’s been a long time since 1977, the narrative of the album still resonates today as our social and economic situation mirrors that of the time.
