In this day and age of giving everything a label or a neat little box to fit into, BEDROCK are difficult to categorise. This elusiveness is valued by the band which has always provided a wide mix of styles, influences and genres in their music. Their live gigs are attended by diverse groups of folk from all walks of life ~ and the composition of their albums are a reflection of this. Whilst their core influences stem from the rock, pop and folk music of the 60's and 70's, they embrace the music that followed those decades, right up to the present. Their album releases, too, are a reflection of this diversity. If asked to describe their music, the band refer to it as DESERT ROCK. This is their uniquely Namibian genre. It is an electic mix. A bit of everything. When you listen to a BEDROCK album, you will understand. No matter what you preference or mood, you should find something that resonates. If not, the band are probably still working on it! Hallmarks of the band's original material are the attention they pay to their lyrics, together with ever-present thread of subtle humour which underpins their work.
